Louise Sauvage, Rainbow Club Patron, coaches Madison de Rozario to win Gold in the Women’s 800m!

Louise, who is a wheelchair racing legend herself and one of Australia’s most decorated Paralympians, has been a coach on the Wheelchair Track and Road team for the Tokyo Paralympics. She has been coaching both Madison and Nic Beveridge.

Madison was full of praise for her legendary coach following her win in Tokyo at the Paralympics

“You commit to it. There is no time to second guess it. Thankfully, my coach knows how to put a race together. She has done it for herself and for me. It was perfect, played to my strengths, and I’m really happy.“

Australia had not won a gold medal in any sport in Tokyo for the last three days and Madison had achieved Silver in the last 3 Paralympics she has competed in so this was an outstanding day for Madison and for Australia.

“There is so much trust. That relationship is probably the strongest I have in my life,” de Rozario said. “She pushes me to be the best version of myself. She definitely sees my potential before I see it, and knew I could do this before I believed it.“

Congratulations Madison and Louise!
