Rainbow Club Australia is delighted to announce the appointment of Johanna Pitman as our new Chief Executive Officer.

Johanna brings extensive leadership experience from across government, business, and the not-for-profit sector in Australia, the UK, and the US. Her career highlights include serving as CEO of Advance Global Australians, Deputy CEO of the Committee for Sydney, and current board roles with the Groundswell Foundation and Aminata Maternal Foundation. She also volunteers as a Lifeline crisis supporter.

With a Master’s degree in Regional Studies (East Asia) from Harvard University, Johanna is fluent in Japanese and Korean. Her passion for social impact and innovation, combined with her collaborative and mission-driven leadership style, makes her an ideal fit for Rainbow Club’s values of inclusion, accessibility, and community connection.

On joining Rainbow Club, Johanna said:

“I am honoured and energised to join such a vibrant organisation, one that stands at the forefront of inclusive recreational opportunities for children and families. I look forward to working with our dedicated staff, volunteers, and members to build on the strong foundation already in place, and shape a future where every child can discover the joy of swimming and belonging.”

Rainbow Club President Alex Finley described Johanna’s appointment as coming at a pivotal time of growth:

“Her expertise positions us to respond boldly to these challenges and expand our reach and impact.”

We extend our deepest thanks to outgoing CEO Graeme Houston for his exceptional dedication, inspiring vision, and tireless work, which have helped shape Rainbow Club into the thriving organisation it is today. His legacy provides a powerful platform for the next stage of our journey.

As we welcome Johanna, we also acknowledge the passion, skill, and commitment of our staff, volunteers, members, and families—together, with Johanna’s leadership, we are poised to make an even greater difference in the years ahead.

We invite you to connect with Johanna at upcoming events, through our communications, or in your local club, and share your stories, hopes, and ideas for the future.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, staff, and the entire Rainbow Club community, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Johanna Pitman and look forward to an exciting future together.

We would also like to thank Korn Ferry for their incredible generosity and support, helping Rainbow Club step confidently into this next chapter.
