Malabar Magic 2026: A Community That Showed Up, Wherever They Were

Malabar Magic has always been more than a swim. It’s a moment each year where our community comes together. Families, swimmers, supporters and sponsors, united by a shared purpose.

In 2026, that spirit was tested. While we weren’t able to gather at Malabar Beach as planned, something just as powerful emerged. The Malabar Magic Virtual Swim gave our community a new way to take part — and the response was incredible.

Across pools, oceans and local swim spots, people showed up. They swam their distances, shared their journeys, fundraised and most importantly, stood behind Rainbow Club.

One of the standout highlights was the Mini Malabar events held across our club network. Clubs across NSW, ACT, VIC and QLD embraced the opportunity to create their own local swim experiences, bringing families, members and teachers together in a way that reflected everything Rainbow Club stands for. From first-time swimmers to squad members chasing personal goals, the sense of pride and connection was felt right across our network.

In a year where the physical event couldn’t go ahead, fundraising became more important than ever, and our community delivered. Participants, families, teachers and supporters rallied together to raise vital funds that will directly support Rainbow Club programs and ensure we can continue delivering life-changing opportunities for young people with a disability.

This year’s campaign was also made possible thanks to the incredible support of our sponsors and prize donors. Their generosity helped drive participation, reward fundraising efforts and bring energy to the virtual format. This support plays a vital role in enabling Rainbow Club to continue its work and grow its impact.

Malabar Magic 2026 reminded us that the strength of this event lies in its community. Even without the beach, people came together to support one another and the cause, and that’s something worth celebrating.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back to Malabar Beach in 2027, with new ideas and improvements shaped by the learnings of this year’s reimagined event.

Until then, thank you to every swimmer, fundraiser, volunteer, teacher and supporter who made Malabar Magic 2026 possible.
