Rainbow Club Australia is proud to be working with Swimming NSW and Swimming Australia on a new initiative creating more opportunities for members who want to continue their swimming journey beyond Rainbow Club.
The initiative will support Rainbow Club swimmers to transition from learn-to-swim programs into affiliated swimming clubs and structured squad programs, with a clear and supported pathway into multi-class competition.
For many families, moving from a learn-to-swim environment into club swimming can feel like a significant step. Through this partnership, Rainbow Club members will be connected with welcoming local clubs that are committed to inclusion and equipped to support swimmers with a disability.
Swimming NSW will work closely with Rainbow Club to connect members with affiliated clubs, help clubs develop inclusive environments and provide guidance about multi-class pathways. Swimming Australia will support the alignment of these pathways nationally, including education around classification and performance progression.
The initial rollout includes Kincumber Pacific Dolphins, Orange Aquatic Club and Aquablitz Swimming Club, which were selected for their established multi-class programs and proximity to Rainbow Club locations.
“This partnership is a significant step forward. It gives our members a clear pathway to continue their swimming journey beyond learn-to-swim, into club participation and competitive opportunities if they choose.
We are proud to be working with Swimming NSW and Swimming Australia to create more inclusive opportunities and stronger connections for our swimmers and their families.”
Rainbow Club provides children and young people with a disability with opportunities to learn vital swimming and water safety skills in a fun and supportive environment. This initiative builds on that foundation by helping members who are ready to explore club swimming and competitive pathways take their next step.
We look forward to working alongside Swimming NSW, Swimming Australia and participating clubs to create more inclusive opportunities for swimmers and their families.
