2010 to 2019
Leadership, funding and reframing enables Rainbow Club to grow and go from strength to strength, providing individualised swim lessons and social participation for children with a disability.
1993-2009 Into the deep
A new Board reaches out to their networks to raise awareness and Rainbow Club grows from one club to sixteen clubs, but tough times start to take hold.
1969-1992 Chasing Rainbows
Ron Siddons sets out to help children with a disability learn to swim. He designs an inflatable swimsuit and sets up a swimming group, naming it Rainbow Club.
Meet Fiona, an early days student
Fiona was one of Rainbow Club’s first students under Founder Ron Siddons. Fiona was born with brittle bones and doctors said if she survived she would never walk.
Rainbow Club’s first official launch
After many years of operating informally with Ron Siddons at the helm, Rainbow Club had its first official launch at Cronulla in 1986.
