We invite members to participate in our NEW Rainbow Speaks! program.

Members aged 12yrs+ are invited to join this one-day program run by Susie Bennett-Yeo from Special Olympics who will share skills and inspire confidence to speak in a public setting. If you are a motivated and enthusiastic swimmer wanting to be a spokesperson for your club this program is for you.

Successful completion of the program will enable members to be ambassadors for our Rainbow Speaks! program at Rainbow Club events.

This program is perfect for:

  • Members interested in making a speech
  • Young people with a disability who are enthusiastic about Rainbow Club & swimming
  • Members with a mentor (preferably not directly related) that can guide members through the program
  • Members who want to attend events and share their story
  • Members who are 12 years and over

What happens at Rainbow Speaks!

Applications Close: TBD

Approval Process: All applications must be approved by your Club Committee. Once approval has been given, email acceptance will be sent out.

Mentors: Mentors must come along to the one day program and will assist members with their training on the day. Mentors can be a close family friend, a teacher or coach etc. (Someone who is not a direct family member) – Mentor Application Form

Rainbow Speaks! Ambassador Packs: Graduates from the program you will become a Rainbow Speaks! Ambassador and will speak at the upcoming Rainbow Connect, Family Carnival and other Rainbow Club events.

You will receive a Speak pack with:

  • Rainbow Speaks! polo shirt.
  • A Rainbow Speaks! binder.
  • A graduation certificate.
  • A Rainbow Speaks! program workbook.
  • An opportunity to speak at our live events throughout the year.

Schedule: The program will run for a half day from 9am and lunch will be provided.
