  • Paid Training (up to 18 hours / 6 shifts) – Shadow experienced teachers while getting paid.
  • Unpaid Training (up to 10 hours in a mainstream swim school) – Gain experience in traditional swim teaching.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to complete the program?

You must complete 25 training hours within six months before being assessed by a workplace assessor. Once deemed competent, you will receive your swim teacher licence.

Can I do all 25 training hours at Rainbow Club?

No. Rainbow Club will pay for up to 15 hours (or 5 shifts), but you must complete 10 additional unpaid hours in a mainstream swim school.

Do I need experience to apply?

No prior experience is necessary, you will just need to know how to swim! We provide full training and support to help you become a qualified swim teacher.

When will I get my 50% course fee reimbursement?

Once you complete your training, gain your qualification, and start teaching with us, you’ll receive 50% of your course fees back.

What happens if I don't pass the final assessment?

The training is competency-based, with an estimated completion time of 25 hours. If you require additional training to meet the licensing requirements, we’ll be here to support you every step of the way.

Will I be paid to do any additional training needed?

If additional training is required after completing 25 hours, a training plan will be developed in consultation with your workplace supervisor. These shifts will be paid; however, any additional paid shifts must be agreed upon in advance, with clear goals established to support your successful completion of the final assessment. If further training is needed beyond this agreed-upon time, it will be your responsibility to continue independently, and Rainbow Club will not provide payment for this additional training.
