Rainbow Club Celebrates National Volunteer Week

Matthew Gadd

Matthew joined the Rainbow Club at Cherrybrook in 2016 to complete his Duke Of Ed community hours as a volunteer. He quickly became part of the club with his big friendly smile, can-do attitude and wonderful disposition. He has won over all of the parents, children and teachers.

“We are very proud of his fundraising efforts and he has recently joined the team as a teacher. The Cherrybrook Club has been very lucky to have had such a wonderful volunteer for many years.”  – Jackie Cole, Cherrybrook Rainbow Club Scheduler

Matthew then went on to do the Rainbow Club Train to Teach program in July of 2019 and became a fully qualified teacher in January 2020 teaching at Cherrybrook Rainbow Club.

“It is this bona fide sense of community and service that are core values of the Rainbow Club organisation that motivated me to become a qualified teacher at the same club in which I started volunteering.” -Matthew Gadd

Matthew is a great example of how young students getting involved with Rainbow Club through volunteering can go on to be very valuable fully trained teachers.

“I cannot recommend highly enough the volunteer opportunities within Rainbow Club, particularly if you are completing the Duke of Edinburgh award”  – Matthew Gadd
