Rainbow Club Celebrates National Volunteer Week
Penrith Volunteers – Sandy Freeman and Darcy Jarman
Thursday Night at Penrith Rainbow Club is “Squad” night and it is highly anticipated each week by members who participate.
The Squad night is a big success thank to the teachers and the volunteers who give their time and skills so generously.
Sandy Freeman who won Gold at the 2019 Special Olympics World Games in the Middle East, shares stroke correction tips with our swimmers. Her years of competitive swimming means she has lots of tips to share with Rainbow Club members, who may one day follow in her footsteps.
Darcy Jarman is close in age to our Thursday night swimmers and regularly volunteers in the pool sharing playfulness and fun through games and activities. The social participation is a great part of what Rainbow Club has to offer. Darcy’s mum Jolanda has been a teacher at Penrith since 2017 so she wanted to join her mum in being part of Rainbow Club.
Thank you to Sandy and Darcy for helping to make Rainbow Club great in Penrith!!
