Welcome Philip Kinney, newly appointed Rainbow Club CEO

The Board of Rainbow Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Philip Kinney as CEO of Rainbow Club commencing on 3 July 2023.

The appointment comes after a thorough executive search process undertaken by the Board Chair and Chair of the People and Culture Committee to identify a new CEO following the retirement of Catriona Barry on 30 June 2023.

Mr Kinney has extensive experience working in senior positions across government and not-for-profit organisations, including the National Disability Insurance Association, most recently as National Director, Aust/NZ for Operation Christmas Child, a not-for-profit organisation that delivers donated gifts to children in need around the world.

Rainbow Club President Alexandra Finley said, “Philip is a recognised industry expert in the not-for-profit sector and we look forward to working with Philip to lead the Rainbow Club into our next phase of growth and development.”

“Philip will build on the extraordinary legacy that has been established under Catriona’s leadership”, she added.

Mr Kinney said, “I am passionate about making a difference in the lives of others, particularly children and feel privileged to join an organisation with a proud 50 year history.”

“I am excited about leading a team of professional staff, teachers and volunteers who are passionate about providing a network of social swimming clubs to as many children and young people with a disability as possible so they can be safe and have fun in the water”, he added.
