Fiona was one of Rainbow Club’s first students under Founder Ron Siddons. Fiona was born with brittle bones and doctors said if she survived she would never walk.
At three years old Fiona joined Ron for swimming therapy. Fiona recalls, “From that very first encounter with Ron, I can honestly say that my life changed forever. Through Ron’s tireless dedication, and encouragement, I not only learnt to swim, but also learnt to walk. By the age of 5 years I was swimming 600 metres and also walking with the aid of a small walking frame. My doctors were none other than amazed at the transformation my life had taken.”
In 1988, Fiona was appointed President of Rainbow Club.
