Meet Raphael

Raphael Ong (12) joined the new Rainbow Club at Glenmore Park on Opening Day in February 2021. Raphael is diagnosed with Autism, Level 3, Sensory Processing Disorder and a Language Disorder and while he loved diving under water, he could not swim, he was not safe and he had challenging behaviours.

Jimmy (6) and Jack (10) are brothers and despite both being on the Autism Spectrum, they could not be more different. Mum (Rebecca) was delighted when Rainbow Club opened in Toronto Swim Centre near Newcastle in July 2020 when all of Greater Sydney was in lockdown.

Meet Seth

Seth started at Sutherland Rainbow Club 4 years ago when he was 7. Rainbow Club was able to harness his love for the water into lessons that have made him confident and safe in the water. IHe has progressed through to swim in the Senior Boys Freestyle Multi Class event at the Zone, Regional and the upcoming NSW State Carnivals.

Meet Samuel

Samuel Cheah has been swimming at Villawood Rainbow Club since March 2019. Samuel’s dad Douglas wanted to help his son settle back into swimming so he asked the teachers for advice. As a result, he edited Rainbow Club’s Return from COVID Social Story to customise it for his son.
